With more than 20 years of professional sewing experience, an education in fashion and business, you can trust that I look at the big picture from all the angles to make sure the products I create will be durable and beautiful for a lifetime.
Right now, handmade masks are EVERYWHERE! I LOVE that so many people have jumped in to help as there's a shortage of PPE, but that DOSE NOT mean that all masks are created equal and definitely not equally durable. I've received requests to repair and rework masks that have fallen apart or weren't well constructed, but the best decision is to purchase masks that are well designed.
All of the items I make, including these face masks, are handmade in Sacramento, California. I LOVE this city and the people in it. I'm currently working on a mask donation project for Sacramento's unhoused neighbors and can't wait to share more with you about this project to help in our community.

Hi there! My name is Camille. I am a mother and a maker. The two things came together to create Sky's Rain when my daughter was born 7 years ago. The business really grew when I was sewing custom babywearing accessory and custom ring sling baby carriers. Life has had some ebb and flow that took me away from sewing for a few years a full-time single parent working to keep the balance.
Fast forward to March 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic began to close down areas of the United States and with my regular income opportunities no longer possible, I set up the sewing room in the house we had just moved into and got to work sewing masks. More than 1000 masks have been custom made to order and shipped out all over the country. I decided it was high time I created a website beyond social media, with a storefront, which is perfect now for some ready to ship face masks.
Living on the grid of downtown Sacramento has also allowed us to fully embrace bike life. For orders in the Downtown, Midtown, Oak Park, Tahoe Park and East Sacramento communities, delivery via cargo bike is optional. If you see us out there on a white front loading cargo bike with my daughter in the front box and streamers trailing behind us, give us a wave and a honk or "Hey!"
